BLACKHAWK MANAGEMENT CORPORATION’S BREADTH OF EXPERIENCE AND RESULTING TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY ENCOMPASSES A NUMBER OF RS3-RELEVANT AREAS
Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (EMARSS) Platform Support
Blackhawk Management Corporation teams have led design, manufacture, and test activities for the EMARSS Maintenance Vehicle (EMV), a mobile test system designed to pre/post-flight the MC-12S EMARSS aircraft’s mission equipment. Critically, the EMV is responsible to verify interface functionality across various Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) subsystems.C4ISR Mission Support to the Warfighter
C4ISR Mission Support to the Warfighter
Blackhawk Management Corporation provided III (US) Corps with instructor and training support at their Mission Command Training Center (MCTC), Battle Simulations Center, and Warrior Skills Trainer Center. Project teams provided.- essential training and exercise integration;
- Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming (LVCG) simulation support;
- information technology (IT) services;
- data management;
- various types of organizational support (facility, property, and logistics management).
TRIDEUM’S WORK EXPERIENCE INCLUDES EFFORTS ACROSS THE R2-3G, S3, AND WEBS CONTRACT INSTRUMENTS, WHERE THEY ARE PERFORMING AS A SUBCONTRACTOR ON SEVERAL TASK ORDERS.
C4ISR Network Performance
Project teams have provided engineering support to key Network Integration Event (NIE) activities.- assessing network architectures
- developing mission threads
- identifying and proposing network standards and measures of effectiveness
Sensor Engineering and Modeling
Sensor Engineering and Modeling
Trideum has supported multiple Army and Air Force sensor programs. In-depth electromagnetic sensor phenomenology understanding, as well as extensive experience modeling sensor performance to support both hardware selection and modeling and simulation (M&S) activities.- sensor performance modeling,
- sensor test and evaluation,
- threat signature modeling,
- all-digital and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation for single and multi-sensor platforms, and complex digital target and background model fabrication
- digital terrain models and synthetic environments to support sensor testing and M&S
Representative Project Experience
Battle Lab Collaborative Simulation Environment (BLCSE) Integration Support
The BLCSE is a distributed and collaborative M&S environment that enables Concept and Capabilities Development across the Army and Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). It includes a persistent and secure network enabling collaboration and interoperability across several Army and TRADOC organizations; a federation of constructive and virtual models and simulations with supporting functional interoperability, event management, and data collection and analysis tools; an accessible repository that provides certified scenarios, data, standards, and procedures; and video teleconferencing, white board capability, and voice over internet protocol communications. Project teams provide support in these RS3-specific Technical Support Areas:
- Technical Engineering
- Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E)
- Logistics
- Acquisition and Strategic Planning
- Education and Training
Highlighted efforts inside the ARCIC SimLab facility on the BLCSE contract include
We support a number of disparate constructive modeling and simulation/stimulation systems, including: Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM), the Joint Defense Logistics Model, Multiple, Fire Simulation, the After Action Review System (AARS), OneSAF, and the Army’s Low Overhead Driver, among others.
The Image Intensification and Thermal Equipment Training (IITET) Project
Focused squarely on the Education and Training Technical Support Area defined under the RS3 umbrella, Trideum’s IITET project work extends across all elements of the C4ISR environment. The effort was executed for prototype systems that are now under evaluation.
Related RS3 Technical Support Areas include:
- Engineering
- Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E)
- Acquisition and Strategic Planning
- Education and Training
Trideum’s project support encompasses program management; requirements integration; systems engineering; software development, integration, and testing; and analysis as is required to develop a UAS training environment to address MUM-T concepts. The curriculum, implemented through training vignettes and campaign missions, was designed by Trideum staff to increasingly challenge the student through a progression – from basic user interface functionalities to a complex, operational, simulated scenario allowing threats and other entities to be engaged freely.
The IITET effort develops a reusable and extensible training architecture in consonance with the Army Learning Model (ALM), and that trains MannedUnmanned Teaming (MUM-T) concepts to Shadow Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) payload operators. Shadow was selected by the Army in 1999 as a core ISR platform in its suite of unmanned systems, and meets the Army’s tactical requirements. By mid-year 2014, the system had logged more than 900,000 hours.
Guardrail Technical Support, Repair, and Reset Services (GUARDRAIL)
The longest-running contract activity at Blackhawk, sustained support to the Guardrail system falls squarely in the C4ISR arena, and expands TriHawk’s capabilities more deeply into the Logistics Services Technical Support Area. Blackhawk has supported the Guardrail Program for over 18 years, most recently expanding into design, development, and production of the Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (EMARSS) support van.
System evolution and an extended aircraft life cycle require overseeing and coordinating replacement of obsolete technologies and providing reset and repair services for various system components.
Inclusive RS3 Technical Support Areas include:
- Engineering Services
- Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E)
- Logistics
- Acquisition and Strategic Planning
